Shopee Late Shipment Rate in Malaysia: What Counts as Late

21 Sept 2026 · Packory

Every order. On video. Dispute-proof.

“Barang dah siap, cuma belum pickup. Kenapa kena point?”

Your Shopee late shipment rate is the share of your orders in the last seven days that went out after the deadline printed in the order details. Shopee recalculates it weekly, and it decides two things at once: whether penalty points land on your shop, and whether your shop keeps its place in the Mall and Preferred programmes. The parcel is not the thing being measured. The pickup scan is.

Shopee late shipment rate: what counts as late

Shopee defines the Late Shipment Rate (LSR) as the percentage of your total orders within the last seven days that were shipped out late. A shipment is late if it is shipped after the shipping deadline in your order details. That deadline comes from your Days to Ship, which already allows for public holidays and non-working days. If pickup must be arranged by 1 July and happens on 2 July or later, that order counts as late.

How Shopee calculates your late shipment rate

Divide the late shipped orders by the total shipped orders in that week, then read it as a percentage. Shopee’s worked example is 50 late orders out of 200 shipped, which comes to 25% for that week.

The rate measures orders that were shipped, so it rewards parcels that leave and get scanned. Cancellations and returns feed the non-fulfilment rate instead, a separate metric with its own consequences. If you are unsure which one an order hit, open Account Health rather than guessing.

The threshold moved in 2026, so read your own target

One official Shopee page states that sellers who miss a 10% LSR threshold are issued penalty points, and that Mall and Preferred sellers who miss a tighter 5% threshold risk being offboarded from those programmes. A second official page states that from 11 February 2026 the LSR threshold was revised from 10% to 15%, temporarily loosened around the Days to Ship change.

We are not picking a winner between two Shopee pages. Your shop runs on the target printed in your own Account Health, so read that number and the date it changes.

What a high rate actually costs

  • An LSR of 10% or more with fewer than 50 late orders in the week earns 1 penalty point.
  • An LSR of 10% or more with 50 or more late orders earns 2 penalty points that week.

Shopee also states that sellers carrying a high number of points may have privileges suspended for up to 28 days, and our guide to Shopee penalty points covers the tiers. Mall and Preferred shops carry a second cost: missing the programme threshold puts the badge itself at risk.

Why your deadline is not simply tomorrow

Days to Ship is the number of days you have to ship an order out from the time it is placed, excluding weekends for sellers who are not Preferred, Mall or Managed, plus public holidays.

That baseline moved during 2026, when Shopee added Saturday as a fulfilment day for local Managed, Preferred and Mall sellers across all states, so a seller in Kota Bharu is not working to the same arithmetic as one in Selangor. Two more details catch sellers out: shops that created their first listing within the last 120 calendar days only get the DTS 0/1 policy from day 121 onwards, and Bulky Delivery sellers have had a different DTS policy since 1 April 2026.

How to check the rate before it becomes a punishment

Open Account Health in Seller Centre and look under Fulfilment Performance. Each metric has a View Detail option listing the orders behind it, so you see the pattern instead of just the score.

  • Note the order numbers behind the figure.
  • Check whether the parcel was packed on time and the scan came late, or whether the pack itself slipped.
  • Hand over the parcels closest to deadline first the next morning.

Step two is the one sellers skip, and it is the only step that tells you which problem you actually have.

Keeping the rate down without slowing the pack

  • Book pickup early in the day, before the same day cut-off, instead of after the last parcel is taped.
  • Label parcels as you pack them, so the handover scan can happen whenever the courier arrives.

The packing record helps here. Packing verification is a recording made while you pack: the airway bill scan starts it, a timestamp is written into every frame, and the clip is filed under that order. When a scan shows up late, you have a record of when the parcel was actually closed and ready.

When the delay was not your fault

Sellers can appeal to remove penalty points with reasonable grounds that they were not at fault, and a successful appeal restores the privileges that were removed. For late shipment cases the useful half of that rule is narrower. Shopee states that if a metric was spoiled because a Shopee Supported Logistics partner failed to pick up on time, the affected order can be removed from non-fulfilment rate, late shipment rate or fast handover rate when the appeal succeeds.

Points can be appealed within 14 days of the issue date, and since 20 April 2026 sellers can also appeal up to seven days before the punishment period starts. Bring the order number, the time you arranged pickup, the tracking number and the scan history.

The number worth reading every week

If a slow week is really about returns eating margin, run the real numbers through the fee and profit calculator before a trend becomes a loss. And when a buyer looks risky on a fresh order, check the buyer before you spend the pack.
